T-105 - Spectrum Strategy

Radio spectrum is a vital enabler of wireless communications, allowing the connection of devices such as mobile phones to the networks of telecoms providers. It is a limited resource, however, needing careful licensing and managing to ensure enough capacity for all the wireless services and applications Islanders rely on and to prevent interference between devices. 

The Authority is developing a spectrum strategy to provide a framework of regulatory spectrum decisions, plans and areas of focus, which will allow interested organisations to consider and plan future network, service and trial deployments.

The first step is a call for information consultation, which is an opportunity to explain plans and gain inputs from as many interested parties as possible.
